Ende, Vox NTT-Ende’s historic sights not only increase insight but also give an exotic impression. However, a few of that, mystical power is also very thick. Let’s say the Imaculata building, one of President Soekarno’s historical sites.
The Imaculata Building was the place Soekarno had chosen to perform toneel drama when he was thrown into Ende, in 1934-1938.
Historically, there are 12 texts written by Soekarno. The rest are still stored on Bung Karno’s Site toneel Rendo, Secret of Kelimutu, Jula Gubi, Kut Kutbi, Anak Haram Jadah, Maha Devil, Aerob Dinamit and Dr. Shaitan.
The building on the hill of the Cathedral road, now, has been renovated and is a cultural heritage asset. The building or site was used as an arena of cultural and artistic performances. Finally, this building is used for cultural performances of the NTT region in order to commemorate the birth of Pancasila , June 1, 2018.
The building renovated in 2012 is very grand and strategic. In addition to ancient concrete architecture, this building is also a locus of people for traveling. Taking picture with the background of the ocean and sunset becomes a habit of citizens at the weekend.
Mystical Power
The building was designed by Architectural Firm owned by Andra Martin, a famous Indonesian Architects. Martin also designed the underground spaces to attract mystical power.
Unlike the previous building with two-sided tropical roof model with a 35 degree slope and some colonial design doors and windows.Martin designed a modern architectural style considering the struggle of Soekarno at that time. It is intended in order to make the generations remember the fighters in colonial period until Independence.
You may not believe that the Site has mystical data. Especially the void basement.
There is only a dark light room similar to horror movies generally.
The corridor turns and the ancient architecture of the past makes the hooded fur goosebumps. Not only the style of the architect, you can also hear the sound echoes from behind the walls. Especially in the dark room.
Unusual sound echoes also occur during the day. Moreover walking alone, you will feel haunted by spirits.
In the main room, at the most peaks, designed using iron bars filled with green stone. The model is in stark contrast with the previous building.
In addition, the hall is also designed on the open courtyard facing west. This is often used by visitors to take picture.
While the basement filled with small alleys with rows of poles. There is also a dark space that is insulated in such a way. Then the spiral staircase is red between the sides of the white paint pole.
While on the roof using a mixed deck filled with several pieces of wood and glass. The reflection of the shadows of the walls and the poles with light sourced from the roof glass can transform the atmosphere into a hollow and creepy.
Flores University Architecture Lecturer, Mukhlis A. Muchtar explained, the building has a unique aesthetic design with a good functionality by adding a different adrenaline flavor.
However, according to him, there needs to be utilization so that the mystical values perceived by each visitor are actually actualized.
Mukhlis explained that the design of the building by Martin is not viewed in terms of architectural model but the principle of utilization. According to him, there should be activities that show that the site becomes a historical sights.
“During the daytime I once went into the empty space, then I felt there is a difference that the noise level is less so quiet, it adds a sense of oddity in the space itself.”
“Yes, it may feel different from the uniqueness of a good aesthetic design with certain functions still the impression of a long hallway adds a different adrenaline feel,” wrote Mukhlis, Architect of Ende who is currently taking a Doctorate degree in Brawijaya University.
Muchlis suggested that the role of the government, especially the technical service, must be more creative to make the site of historical sights in the city. He hopes that historical sites will not be exploited at a certain moment.
“Not only see this building on the national day of June 1 which became a new trend in Ende District. Hopefully the elected leader with his political promises in the past can answer all this in accordance with the mandate of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 11 of 2010 Article 1 of the Heritage is the cultural heritage of material objects in the form of Objects of Culture, Heritage Buildings, Cultural Heritage Structure, Site Cultural Heritage, and Heritage Areas on land and or water that need to be preserved because it has important value for history, science, education, religion, and / or culture through the process of determination, ” write him again.
